Project Overview
Lithic Industries successfully reclaimed and stabilized a decades-old asphalt parking lot at Western Hills Church of Christ using T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization. The project transformed the worn parking area into a durable, dust-free surface capable of handling several hundred cars per week by reclaiming the existing asphalt in place.

Project Objectives
The primary goal was to rehabilitate the rear parking lot with a cost-effective solution that avoided the expense, disruption, and long downtime of full asphalt removal and replacement. The church needed a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface that performed well under regular vehicle traffic.

The Challenge
The existing parking lot was heavily worn and required rehabilitation. The project was executed during extremely cold weather (low temperatures in the mid-20s°F and daytime highs only in the 40s°F). While cold temperatures do not reduce the final compressive strength of T-PRO®, they significantly slow the curing process, requiring an extended infusion cure time. Mechanical sweeping was also needed before the final seal coat, extending the total project timeline to two weeks.

The Polymer Soil Stabilization Solution
Lithic Industries applied a targeted T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization approach using in-situ reclamation. The existing asphalt was milled, infused with T-PRO® at the optimal concentration, graded, compacted, and finished with a topical polymer seal coat. This in-place method allowed the church to achieve a high-quality parking surface without hauling off old material or importing large volumes of new aggregate.
