SNC-Lavalin Constructors Pacific was faced with a significant dust control issue on our CetrePort Canada Way project in Winnipeg. Local service roads adjacent to the site were also being used as primary access to a handful of local residences. These service roads were our sole means of access to certain parts of the site for construction equipment and highway hauling trucks. The heavy construction traffic was causing a significant dust problem during the hot, dry weather.
Lithic was contacted for a consultation to look at options for solving the issue. After a site review, a decision was made to try using T-PRO® at 7:1 dosage rate on the sections of service roads immediately adjacent to the private residences. The application went smoothly and within a day, traffic was traveling these gravel service roads without leaving a dust cloud behind them. After four months of service since application, the product is still holding up well and we have saved significant costs for what otherwise would have gone to pay for operation of full-time watering trucks.
