T-PRO® Polymer Stabilizes Crushed Limestone for a Canadian Car Dealership
Project Description T-PRO® polymer transformed locally sourced crushed limestone into strong, durable walkways, driveways, and eye-catching outdoor vehicle display areas for a newly built car dealership in Canada.
What was once loose, shifting aggregate became a hard, stable surface that looks natural, performs like asphalt, and costs far less than concrete paving.
Project Objectives The dealership needed an affordable, low-maintenance alternative to traditional concrete or asphalt for their pedestrian walkways, service driveways, and outdoor vehicle display zones.
Using T-PRO®, the locally available crushed limestone was infused with polymer, compacted in place, and finished with multicolored stains. The result is a beautiful, natural-looking surface that complements the dealership’s landscaping while delivering excellent performance in Canadian weather — easily shedding water and snow for year-round usability.
This polymer-stabilized limestone created a hard, functional surface at a fraction of the cost of conventional paving, reducing long-term maintenance while maintaining an attractive, professional appearance that helps showcase vehicles in the best light.
Key Benefits for Your Project
- Significant cost savings compared to concrete or asphalt
- Natural aesthetic with custom staining to match your landscaping
- Low maintenance and easy repairs
- Excellent drainage and snow shedding
- Dust control and erosion resistance
- Fast, simple installation using basic equipment
Application Details The crushed limestone was infused with T-PRO® polymer at a 1% concentration and compacted using hand-operated tools. After compaction, a light topical seal coat was applied for added surface protection and longevity. The surface was then stained with multicolored dyes to enhance its natural stone appearance and blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Equipment Used Rakes, shovels, Water-buffalo with attached hose sprayer, and vibrating walk-behind compactor.
Application Specifications
- Infused application: 1% polymer concentration
- Topical seal coat: 104 ft²/gal
Maintenance Requirements Minimal upkeep is required. Simply re-compact any loose areas as needed and apply a topical re-application of polymer seal coat (with added color if desired). This easy maintenance keeps the surface looking great and performing well for years.
