Project Objectives The primary objective was to create a clean, non-tracking surface for safe pedestrian and bike access through a newly installed decomposed granite landscape. The area separated a parking lot from the adjacent street and sidewalk, but loose granite was constantly being tracked onto paved surfaces—creating unsightly messes, maintenance headaches, and a safety hazard for cyclists on the nearby sidewalk.
By applying T-PRO®, the municipality built a hard, durable, natural-looking pathway that locked the decomposed granite in place, prevented material migration, and eliminated the need for costly concrete curbing. The result is an attractive, permeable landscape feature that maintains the desired organic aesthetic while providing reliable pedestrian access. T-PRO® solved ongoing landscape and erosion maintenance issues, delivering a clean, professional finish that homeowners, property managers, and landscape designers will appreciate for gardens, easements, and public green spaces.
Application Details T-PRO® was topically applied over compacted decomposed granite and allowed to cure for 48 hours.
Equipment Used Mixing tank, walk-behind compactor, and hand-operated sprayer equipment.
Application Specifications Pathway treated with a 100 ft²/gal topical application at a dilution ratio of 3:1 (water:polymer).
Maintenance Requirements Simple annual, biannual, or as-needed re-compaction of any loose material followed by a topical re-application of polymer. This low-effort upkeep keeps the pathway looking great and functioning perfectly for years.
