Pathway Stabilization Henderson Nevada | T-PRO®
Project Overview
Lithic Industries applied T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization to create a clean, non-tracking surface for safe pedestrian and bike access through a newly installed decomposed granite landscape in Henderson, Nevada. The area separated a parking lot from the adjacent street and sidewalk. Loose granite was constantly being tracked onto paved surfaces — creating unsightly messes, maintenance headaches, and a safety hazard for cyclists on the nearby sidewalk.
Project Objectives
The primary objective was to build a hard, durable, natural-looking pathway that locked the decomposed granite in place, prevented material migration, and eliminated the need for costly concrete curbing. The solution needed to maintain the desired organic aesthetic while providing reliable pedestrian and bike access.
The Challenge
Loose decomposed granite was migrating onto adjacent paved surfaces, creating ongoing maintenance issues and safety concerns. Traditional approaches either required expensive concrete curbing or failed to adequately lock the material in place under foot and bike traffic.
The Polymer Soil Stabilization Solution
Lithic Industries applied a targeted T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization approach using the existing in-situ decomposed granite. T-PRO® was topically applied over the compacted surface and allowed to cure for 48 hours. This created a hard, durable matrix that locked the granite particles in place while preserving the natural appearance of the landscape.
Proven Results
The T-PRO® treatment delivered clear, lasting benefits:
- Created a clean, non-tracking pathway surface
- Prevented material migration onto adjacent paved areas
- Eliminated the need for costly concrete curbing
- Delivered an attractive, permeable landscape feature that maintains the desired organic aesthetic
- Provided reliable pedestrian and bike access with reduced maintenance
- Solved ongoing landscape and erosion issues with a professional finish
Application Details
- Equipment Used: Mixing tank, walk-behind compactor, and hand-operated sprayer equipment
- Application Method: Topical application over compacted decomposed granite
- Application Rate: 100 ft² per gallon at a 3:1 water-to-polymer dilution ratio
- Cure Time: 48 hours
Maintenance Requirements
Maintenance is simple and low-effort:
- Annual, biannual, or as-needed re-compaction of any loose material
- Follow with a topical re-application of T-PRO® polymer
