Project Overview

Project Objectives
The primary goals were to provide an attractive, functional parking area for patrons that was budget-friendly, quick to install, and environmentally responsible. The project needed to deliver long-term performance while minimizing cost and construction time compared to conventional paving methods.

The Challenge
Standard asphalt and concrete options were expensive, time-consuming, and created excessive reflective heat that increased cooling costs for adjacent buildings. The project required a fast, low-cost solution using previously imported ¾” minus recycled concrete and aggregate base material.

Lithic Industries applied a targeted T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization approach using the existing in-situ recycled aggregate. T-PRO® was infused into a 3-inch deep layer of the recycled material at a 0.75% polymer concentration, followed by a light topical seal coat. The entire parking lot was constructed in just two days — one day to process the existing material and one day to build the finished surface. The lot was ready for parking striping within 48 hours.
