Pathways & Vehicle Areas Manitoba | T-PRO®
Project Overview
Lithic Industries used T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization to transform locally sourced crushed limestone into strong, durable walkways, driveways, and outdoor vehicle display areas at a newly built car dealership in Manitoba, Canada. The result is a hard, stable surface that looks natural, performs like asphalt, and costs far less than traditional concrete or asphalt paving.
Project Objectives
The primary goal was to create an affordable, low-maintenance alternative to conventional concrete or asphalt for pedestrian walkways, service driveways, and outdoor vehicle display zones while maintaining a professional, natural aesthetic that complements the dealership’s landscaping.
The Challenge
The dealership needed a surface that could handle Canadian weather extremes — freeze-thaw cycles, snow, and rain — without the high cost of concrete or asphalt. Loose, shifting aggregate was not acceptable for professional vehicle display and pedestrian areas.
The Polymer Soil Stabilization Solution
Lithic Industries applied a targeted T-PRO® polymer soil stabilization approach using the existing in-situ crushed limestone. The material was infused with T-PRO® at a 1% polymer concentration, compacted in place, and finished with a light topical seal coat. Multicolored stains were then applied to enhance the natural stone appearance and blend with the surrounding landscape.
Proven Results
The T-PRO® treatment delivered excellent long-term performance:
- Hard, stable surface that performs like asphalt at a fraction of the cost of concrete
- Natural-looking finish that complements the dealership’s landscaping
- Excellent drainage and snow shedding for year-round usability in Canadian weather
- Strong dust control and erosion resistance
- Significant cost savings compared to traditional paving methods
- Low-maintenance surface that remains attractive and functional for years
Application Details
- Equipment Used: Rakes, shovels, water truck with hose sprayer, vibrating walk-behind compactor
- Application Method: In-situ infusion of crushed limestone with T-PRO® polymer + topical seal coat
- Polymer Concentration: 1%
- Topical Seal Coat Rate: 104 ft² per gallon
Maintenance Requirements
Maintenance is minimal and cost-effective:
- Re-compact any loose areas as needed
- Apply a light topical re-coat of T-PRO® (with added color if desired) periodically
